RENTAL AGREEMENT ADDENDUM REGARDING U.S. SERVICEMEMBERS CIVIL RELIEF ACT
 
1. Addendum. This is an addendum to the TSSA Rental Agreement described in the signature block below between the undersigned Lessor and Tenant.
2. Reason for addendum. Because of the ongoing deployment of U.S. Armed Forces overseas and the call-up of the reserves and National Guard, Congress has enacted into law the “U.S. Servicemembers Civil Relief Act” (SCRA) as a replacement of the former “Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Civil Relief Act.”
   This addendum is to provide additional information regarding terms of the TSSA Rental agreement related to the SCRA and to place the waiver provisions previously contained in the body of the TSSA lease in a separate addendum as required by amendments to the SCRA.
3. Other rights unchanged. All other contractual rights and duties of both Lessor and Tenant under the Rental Agreement remain unchanged.
4. Waiver. If Tenant is on active military duty at the time of signing the Rental Agreement, Tenant waives for purposes of the Rental Agreement all rights under the U.S. Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, including those relating to foreclosure for nonpayment, eviction for prohibited activity, etc.
5. Automatic payments. Tenant (check one) ___ will or ___ will not use “myPay” or a similar system to make automatic rent payments for the duration of the Rental Agreement. If automatic payments are to be made, the facility’s routing number is _________________, the facility’s account number is _____________, the name of the facility’s bank is ______________ , the name of the account holder (name on the facility’s account) is ____________. Military personnel can make automatic -pay arrangements online through http://mypay.dfas.mil. If tenant will make automatic payments via credit card, tenant must sign Lessor’s authorization form to allow such auto-debits.
